Do you have a blog?

This is a bit off-topic… but, I know many of you have blogs of your own. If you have a blog – you have to hear about the biggest new technology just released!

Do you see it there – on the right side of my blog? It’s called BlogRush and it is VERY COOL! A great tool for increasing awareness and traffic to your blog… I could go on and on about it, but I’ll point you to a video instead. Don’t miss out – it was just released last night and it is FREE!

The COOLEST Chore Chart I’ve Seen

I wasn’t even looking for this – just stumbled on it… and am so glad I did!

This was the best $4 I have spent in a while! A complete list of chores for every week of the year – all planned out and ready to go. How cool is that? These ladies plan the entire year to clean the house… and for $4 you get a 53 page pdf document with each page having chores for that week. (They include the last week of the year too)

Check it out – they even have a free sample you can look at:

Napkin notes in their lunches…

School starts tomorrow… Even though my oldest is going into 2nd grade, we have homeschooled so this is a big transition for him (oh – who am I kidding – for ME!) – and my daughter is going to pre-K kindergarten at our church. So, we are heading out to the grocery store today to stock up on lunch stuff… and as I was looking online for some new ideas for bag lunches, I came across a book that looks so sweet! (It is only a penny on Amazon – I may just have to buy it)…

It’s called: Napkins: Lunch Bag Notes From Dad

One day this Dad’s daughter brought him 150 notes he had written on napkins that had been tucked into her lunch when she was a child – she challenged him to make a book… and he did. :)

If you are looking for inspiration for those little lunch box notes – this may be worth checking out.

Kids In The Kitchen… THEIR Kitchen

Although I’m all for getting my kids involved in the kitchen – whether it is cooking, washing dishes, emptying the dishwasher, etc… – But, sometimes, I need my own space to be productive. I have to believe that I’m not the only mom (or dad) who has this need – so, I thought I would share my little solution that has saved my sanity time and time again!

We have a Little Tikes kitchen in the dining area… it is right off my kitchen and when I need a break, I get the kids involved in working in their own kitchen while I’m working in mine. If I’m doing dishes – I encourage them to wash their own dishes. If I’m cooking – I’ll encourage them to cook too. And my favorite – if I’m doing an overall cleaning of my kitchen, I get them cleaning their kitchen (floor and all) too! The key is to be prepared… here are a few things to stock their little kitchen with to help them feel like it is just like mommy’s.

  • Sponges for cleaning
  • Spray bottles (set to a light mist and let them spray their stove and sink to clean it)
  • Rug for in front of the sink
  • Rubber gloves
  • Pots/Pans and play food

What tips do you have for keeping sane in the kitchen?
