We love frozen grapes – the perfect kid snack!
->
I was thrilled to see grapes on sale at the grocery store this week! We bought a bunch… then I had my 8 and 5 year olds wash them and pull them off the stems and put them into little baggies for the freezer. MMMmmmm… They are like little popcycles for little mouths and my kids love them! In fact, on the menu today for lunch for my 3 year old…
Peanut Butter toast cut into triangles
Fiber Bar granola bar (doctor recommended) cut into little bite size rectangles
FROZEN grapes
Apple Juice
This is my picky eater… and he is EATING it UP! ![]()
What’s on your menu today?
Save money by storing your food properly

THE craft making THE perfect gift for ALL occasions!
Yeah – that title is a pretty big claim for this craft… but, I think it’s true!
After checking this one out – let me know what you think… have a cool idea to add? Please share…
Okay – now… onto this wonderful craft! Years ago, a friend of mine made this craft with her six children… they were amazing! They are basically little glass beads (like what you would find at a craft store) glued onto small pictures with a magnet on the back. But, don’t let that simple description fool you. There are so many ideas you can do with this… and ‘Not Martha’ not only shows you how to create these things – but posted plenty of pictures too! I love the suggestion of making little pictures of your family growing up – then giving the set as a gift to mom and/or dad… or other family members. There are so many ideas you can do with this – I really want to know what you think. Take a look… (’Not Martha’ calls them Marble Magnets) then, come back and share your creativity!
SPRING is teasing me!
It is suppose to almost hit 60 degrees today in the Pacific NW… it’s beautiful! I know it is just a tease, but we are going to pretend for the day that spring is here!
We are opening all the windows to get that crisp clean air smell filling the rooms… we are working out front in the yard to get it ready for the soon to come spring flowers… and we promised the kids a hike at a local nature park.
So… speaking of spring cleaning… I thought I would share with you a couple of my favorite books on the topic of home organization. I’ll be honest with you – I am a good organizer… but, I am a terrible housekeeper. I desire to have a clean, organized home that my family can consider a refuge – and I need all the help I can get to do so. I stumbled on these two books a few years ago – and they have been so helpful.
Training our kids for Valentines Day
Yesterday as we were walking out of a store, I noticed a man walking in his son. As they got to the door, they stopped and the dad pointed out a sign to the son. He said, “What do you think about that – do you think that would be a good Valentines gift for mom?”… The boy didn’t seem to have an opinion one way or another… but, as I walked past I looked to see what they were looking at. It was a sign of personalized items – like mugs with pictures, plates, mouse pads, etc… and I thought – How cool! This dad was training his son to think ahead for Valentines Day by getting him involved in getting a gift for his mom. Way to go dad!!
More than your basic Mac n’ Cheese
Every once and a while we many kids’ favorite meal – Mac N’ Cheese… we hadn’t had it for months – but, the other day it was a very quick and easy fix. I prepared the mac n’ cheese and served it up in bowls for the kids. To my surprise (don’t know why it surprised me, it really shouldn’t have), my daughter said, “Mom… where are the green things? I want the green things!”… Okay, brace yourself… the ‘green things’ she is talking about is…
veggies!
Yep
I was so proud of my daughter practically begging me for green veggies with her meal!
See, I always add a green veggie to mac n’ cheese… we’ve added peas, broccoli… but, their favorite? Green beans – sticking out like alien legs
And that is what we call it in our house – ‘Alien Leg Mac N’ Cheese’
What about you? What do you put in your mac n’ cheese?
