Get Your Tickets Here!

Tickets are so great for young children…
We started a new chore system for our almost 10 year old(called Accountable Kids… I’ll share more about it later – love it and it deserves its own post!)… and it is ticket based. Basically, our son can earn tickets for doing morning chores, afternoon chores, good behavior, etc… and the tickets can be exchanged for privileges (mostly screen time). We started the system with just our oldest… and it has worked so well that now my younger two (ages 6 and 4) are always asking if they can earn tickets. What is funny about it… they don’t even know what the tickets are for!

I love it when children are still in the stage where a ticket is enough of a prize! :-)

So, I was thrilled to find these tickets that Gingham Cherry is giving away – so cute!

Just think about the possibilities…
tickets for potty training
tickets to buy stuff from the ’store’
tickets for obeying
tickets for kindness
tickets for chores
tickets for game pieces
tickets for learning to count/math
… so many possibilities!

You can even let your kids set up all their stuffed animals in the living room for a zoo exhibit… and sell tickets to the zoo :-)

What would you use these tickets for?

Does Your Kid Kitchen Have Menus?

kids menuThis is the coolest idea… can’t wait to do this with my kids next week!

My younger 2 spend a lot of time preparing all sorts of concoctions in their little kitchen… it is pretty funny the different ‘teas’ they serve… or appetizers (which IRL would not be all that appetizing!)… their creativity is amazing — and this idea over at Money Saving Mom takes it a new level!

Money Saving Mom posted the cutest idea to make little menus for your kids kitchen — the kind THEY make :-) Isn’t this a great exercise for them? They get to pick out foods they want to eat and include on their menu, layout the design, and set the prices. You could laminate the project for them too so they stand up over time.

Incentive for kids this summer…

I just read a great idea over at Like Merchant Ships

I don’t know about you – but, our kids earn money for different things throughout the week/month… isn’t it depressing to see all their hard work go towards ONE measly toy simply because the toy is over priced?

Check out this very cool solution! Love this idea… and with garage sales popping up all over the place this time of year, this is super easy to get going!

Do you have a favorite way to reward your kids?

$.25 a BOX for Dishwashing soap

My big box of dishwashing soap from Costco finally ran out. Honestly, I really think that dishwashing soap is one of the things that is way over priced… being on a tight budget, I wasn’t looking forward to buying it this trip. But, to the store we went… and when I got to the dishwashing soap aisle – I was thrilled!

The FINISH brand diswashing soap packets was on sale for 4/$5 (regularly $4.99 each!)… PLUS, my daughter found a set of coupons next to the display for $1.00 off! If you do the math… $.25 a box!! I bought $40 worth of soap for a whoppin’ TWO DOLLARS! :-) And, to make me feel even better… that’s 140 loads of dishes… just over a PENNY for dishwashing soap per load.

I never, ever, thought I would be giddy over dishwashing soap :-)

BTW – If you are in the Pacific Northwest area, you can get this deal too by heading to your local Fred Meyer…

Best Kept Secret For Tired Moms!

A make-up expert let me in on one of the BEST KEPT SECRETS FOR TIRED MOMS!

I am so excited to share this with you… Are you like me? Do you struggle with tired eyes from those late nights with your little ones? I never had bags under my eyes or dark circles… until I had a child who didn’t sleep through the night for over a year! Then came baby #2… and baby #3… and well – it was just inevitable.

Last month, I was so excited to learn about a very simple tip to help brighten and open eyes (or at least make them appear bright and open ;-) — hey, I’ll take what I can get!)…

Here is the SECRET:

You know those white eye liner pencils? You take a white eye liner and apply it to the inner lower lid. That’s it! It creates a sheen that makes your eyes look more open and… AWAKE! It’s better than toothpicks – I promise! :-)

Do you have a make up secret for tired moms?

Shopping Online With eBates is a DREAM!

I am absolutely LOVING shopping online this year! There is finally some nice competition for shipping specials… although shopping with my 3 young children in tow – hmmm… makes me not mind paying shipping fees so much. But, why not have the best of both worlds?

I have to share with you about eBates - it is so cool! It is free to register and once you are in – you just browse through the stores they have listed to get extra savings. I had joined a couple of years ago and forgot about it… but last month I started Christmas shopping online and remembered eBates right before I paid for the items I was going to buy. I quickly went to the eBates site and turned out eBates was offering a rebate for anything I purchased from the store I was ALREADY shopping at! :) WhooHoo! I already have overĀ  $100 in my eBates account… I’m telling you – if you are going to be shopping online this holiday (and if you have little ones, I highly recommend it) save money with eBates this year!
